Jessica's Fashion Mixer - CLIQUE

I have the best life ever - I swear - just had to say.

As a new mom with no social life, and a serial social networker, and a by day marketing professional - I needed a new outlet for my creative/social side. I wanted to so badly to find an event where I could shop with my girls, have a few drinks and network/social at the same time. In Portland, OR, there is no such animal - at least I couldn't find one.

So, I decided to start a fashion mixer. I call it CLIQUE by Jessica Kane. And, it's simply a night to bring together all the people I love, and new ones I'd love to meet, and share a girls night out.

My first one was in November 08 at PALA, a nice lounge/restaurant in downtown Portland, OR. It went great! So great in fact, I realized quickly I needed more space. So, I scouted downtown Portland for a new venue, and found Ibiza (www.ibizaportland.com). This place is simply amazing! The most fabulous tall ceilings, mediteranean decorations, fabulous tapas, and a great staff. Just LOVE it there! So, the owner and I clicked and I decided to hold the January mixer there, and am so glad I did.

I think all the ladies had a great time, and I sure did too! I have to say thank you to my close friends that invest their time and energy into this event to make it a success for everyone involved. This is not a business, it's a non-profit mixer, so everything is volunteer.

The Wedding Video

Awww!! Finally the Wedding Video! Get ready for some entertainment!
Mike and I got married on 7-7-07 in Las Vegas at the Tropicana Island Wedding Chapel!!! Of course, being Kanes, it's quite humourous - thank goodness since the pastor lady was ready to fall asleep!! and make the rest of us as well - of course the 116 degree temp might have had something to do with it :)

We had two big trips this weekend! Wfew...we are still recooping - well Kyle has fully regained ALL vocal abilities - laughing - he has no problem with energy - unlike us adults.

This must be WHHYYY he's so refreshed!! *smirk* Little booger slept all the way in the car - just puts him right to sleepy land.
My grandpa (pictured here with Kyle) had to go in for a heart operation - oblasion?? (we're all confused as to the correct terminology) - and since he was not able to drive back home to Myrtle Creek, OR, my mom and I drove them back. My grandpa is doing great, and hopefully this time around the operation will "stick".

The good part was Kyle got to spend a LOT of time with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.

Then, we took advantage of being down south to visit aunty crystal as well....she's not a blood aunt - but one of my best friends and might as well be my little sis - so she's Aunty Kinkel (we aren't supposed to say her nickname :).

Little man took every photo opportunity to show off how handsome he is....what a personality i swear!

Then, since hubby and I and Kyle Bug needed some together time, we decided to take advantage of a dreary day and visit the Oregon Coast...it's definitely not Malibu - but just being at the ocean seems to reboot the soul, you know? Mike and I are total water babies - and I'm thinking Kyle bug is too.

This bridge is AMAZING! So huge!! I think it's the Aurora bridge??

We stopped into Seaside OR, where they have the cutest boardwalk idea with little shops and cafes and galleries - so fun! Of course we had to get some taffy! And, we stopped in for some hot cocoa and clam chowda' :)

I was sweating hot in my jacket, but Kyle bug needed some warming up.

We made it to the beach, and it was absolutely awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Mikey took the cam and snapped this shot which I LOVE. So beautiful.

Then we had to take the obligatory together shots in front of the ocean. And reminding myself not to tuck my hair behind my ears anymore! *laughing* yah, I'm a little vain :(

So back home we went. It was a great weekend and I'm so thankful my grandpa is doing well.

Gosh, I can't believe it's been so long since I updated the blog! Since the holidays came and went so quickly, I was still recovering from holiday-lag :)

We've been keeping busy...Jessica is back to work full time and working hard on networking and such. Mikey is busy as well at Selland and just running around everywhere! We are very blessed and thankful we have our jobs and aren't victims of the economic slump - yet.

Our prayers and wishes go out to the family who are in need of jobs and have been hugely effected by 2008.

While we work on staying working....there is a little rest time...here's Kyle sleeping sound. He still likes to be swaddled in order to sleep. Silly boy...he's so big, the swaddle only holds his arms really :)
He's not sleeping through the night, but we only get 1 wake up call, so I can't complain. Here's Kyle bug playing with his favorite play toy - a gift from Aunt Christina :)

And, some chill/cute time with daddy. He had his 4 month check up not that long ago, and everything went great. He's a big boy, but took his shots like a pro. He weighed in at 18lbs and 28" long.

Then, we made some couple time. I have the most wonderful couple friends, and I organized a hockey night out! Here's my friend Mandy - she caught the puck! ok..she didn't "catch" it, but her armrest did! So scary --

The Winterhawks got slaughtered, but they fought back! it was definitely fight night!

While on drink errands, I bumped into the mascot! How fun!

I tried to get a picture of hubby and I, but he HATES pictures....

And, I was able to make some time for a girls nite dinner. We went to Vinetopia in Vancouver, WA and it was great! They had an amazing happy hour menu (even though we didn't sit AT the bar..but sat 5 feet FROM the bar).

It's been a whirlwind, and can NOT belive February is so close! Kyle will be 5 months old soon. Just simply amazing. Speaking of Kyle, he's beckoning me...think I better go.

It was Kyle's 4 month bday, so I took him out on the town..the fun part is I got to have all the fun! haahha

My girlfriend Nicole was headed to get her hair did from my friend Gabe at Pravda, so we tagged along and had a fun day.

Kyle was pooped, so I was able to squeeze a pedi in! wow, i felt like a star! :)

I think Kyle was a tag freaked out by Nicole with her foils in....LOL

We went to Tara Thai for lunch, it was fabulous as always...and Kyle got to play with Auntie Nicky.

And, this is me headed out for New Years with my girls....but he had to go home early since mr. kyle was seepy. I don't think he cared it was new years :) that's ok, got to snuggle bug with hubby instead :)

Well the Holidays have come and gone by so quickly I barely understand what just happened!

Kyle is now 4 months old, he's headed to his 4mth check up tomorrow, that should be fun, not! More shots time :( poor kiddo

Here are some pix from Christmas. We tried the family shot, but poor Kyle bug was so tired. He was done. But, it's a cute shot anyways...That's me, Kyle, Daddy (mike) and my mom. And, yes, I'm blond now, I got bored over the holiday weekend :)

Kyle got this silly hat that made him look like the Pope! hahaha - i found it in the $1 bin at Target, i think it was actually for a dog?? LOL woops! Pope Kyle would rather chew on mommy's arm than enjoy his pressies.

We got to look at his stalking...he got new socks ( a kane tradition) to enjoy on Christmas day.

Oh lookey! A toy for your stroller! yay! I think he actually liked this one.

Oh and an Elmo thinggy for the bath (from daddy), i tried to create some enthusiasm :)

And my mom with a fun new outfit including a snazzy scarf...

There aren't any pics of me with presents, but trust me I was SPOILED!! Hubby got me a new digital camera, a new coat, snow boots, snow gloves, TWO perfumes....Juicy Couture and J'Dore Dior, and the finale...a new flat iron - yes, it's simply amazing! :) awwww sigh. love it.
