Belated Christmas & New Years Post

Hello family and friends!

Well, as a self-professed facebook addict, I have neglected to add the Christmas and New Years photos! We are so happy the winter has spared us from the 15" of snow we had last year! Luckily we are getting off easy with some rain and mild snow flurries. Here's a picture of last winter!

For the family updates....
Mike is still an auto hauler for Selland Auto Transport and recently changed "lanes". This means he is now hauling cars from Portland to Seattle, instead of just in Portland. The change does keep him away more, but we are feeling a bit more financially secure since the work is more steady on the new lane - and he's the #1 guy! ohh lala!! :)
Kyle bug is 16months old and doing great. He's running everywhere, favorite game is to be chased while I growl at him. He has a mouth full of teeth and still sleep 12 hours at night! I know - can't believe it! He's growing so quickly, definitely in the top percentile of height for kiddos. Since I'm a stay at home mommy now (more on me soon), Kyle and I get to hang out all day - so it's fun. We do playdates with mom groups and go shopping and run errands. I cook dinner and do laundry - man - sounds like Mike has it made! I'm being domesticated!!
Here's Kyle going shopping for Christmas with us...

As for me, due to the new economic climate my position was eliminated in Sept 2009 at American Family Insurance and consolidated into a corporate position. Definitely was a bummer, but almost a blessing in disguise. I figure most events like this in my life are divine intervention :). I do miss the work, I'm kinda a work-a-holic needing something to pour my heart into, so I starting working on my own things under the umbrella Kane Kreative. www.kanekreative.com.
This is an umbrella company that I use for publishing my magazine SKORCH www.skorchmag.com and working on CLIQUE Mixers www.cliquemixer.com, and all my design and event talents.

Most recently, I was hired to produce a New Years Eve bash at a super hip lounge in downtown Portland, OR - Velvet Lounge. My theme was "SO GLAM." I'm happy to report it was a sold out event, and I honestly had the best NYE ever! Didn't pay for a drink and got PAID! :) Now, that's how you do a party!
Mike was there by my side as the clock struck midnight, even after being awake for nearly 27 hours straight with an hour nap. I am completely blessed to have a wonderful husband by my side for the New Year.

I wanted to show holiday photos with Kyle bug last year vs. this year...so cool!

Delivering our wish to Santa as Macy's, our tradition.
